I`m installed vlc, following this article "http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Vlc"

If I click on VLC`s command on menu, nothing happen and if I run vlc by terminal, vlc startx if no gui.

What is wrong?

I have it built with these use flags: X a52 aac alsa avcodec avformat bidi cdda dbus dts dvbpsi dvd encode ffmpeg flac gcrypt gnutls httpd libnotify live lua matroska mmx mp3 mpeg ncurses ogg opengl png postproc qt4 sdl sse svg swscale theora truetype udev vaapi vlm vorbis x264 xcb xml xv

I apologize that should have been qt4

EDIT: I would recommend using all my flags if you want to use VLC generally since many of these flags trigger support for specific file formats and it can be a pain to tack down the cause. Or use these http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-gentoo.html Its a bit better than the wiki in this case.

Teegrins, caaarlos!

Could you please post the terminal-output you get from vlc when you try to start it?

(Use the [code ] tags [/ code] to make it pretty.)

That would suggest you've picked the wrong CFLAGS for your CPU.

If that would really be the case, you'll need to rebuild just about everything on your system.
