|
|
This will be my first install of Gentoo. I have a AMD Athlon(tm) II P320 Dual-Core Processor and I was wondering which architecture of gentoo I should use... http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Athlon%20II%20Dual-Core%20Mobile%20P320%20-%20AMP320SGR22GM.html says (I think) It supports amd64, but http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml says that i686 cpu users should us x86.
My question: x86 or x86_64 installation? I currently have 32 bit arch linux installed. (i believe I could have installed 64bit though... idk y I installed 32)
btw output of lscpu:
Code: |

CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit

On-line CPU(s) list: 0,1

You can use either. I recommend sticking with 64 bit (amd64).
If in doubt, the wiki is usually settles the question. _________________ First things first, but not necessarily in that order.
Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box. |
