Nixon could have used a law like this.

Nixon could have used Obama's Petabyte-processing Big Brother data center instead of his "enemies list" too.

DHS is becoming a tentacled beast that won't ever stop growing.

I see a SyFy movie, or maybe some Japanimated porn, in that. It must be the tentacles.

Speaking of porn, and Obama would probably agree, nothing makes bush look better than a freshly mown landing strip.

Nixon went down for trying to cover it up, not for what actually happened. Something Obama seems to be doing with Fast & Furious.

Which reminds me, the F&F issue disappeared too quickly after Roberts screwed us. Hmmm.

If you haven't seen Person of Interest, you should check it out. Besides being decent (if you're willing to allow for imperfection to allow for story flow), it is just plausible enough that it is probably based on Echelon (or at least someone's interpretation of what Echelon could do). Besides, Jesus is the main character, so what's not to like.

Issa is working with civil courts to prosecute Holder since the DoJ (obviously) won't do anything.

Hopefully that goes somewhere. I really don't care about Holder as much as getting Obama on the abuse of power / cover up.

If there is any credibility on that one, it needs to be well publicized every few days between now and the election.

Boehner came out with that immediately after Obama's executive order was issued.

Critics of the order are concerned with Section 5.2, which is a lengthy part outlining how telecommunications and the Internet are controlled. It states that the Secretary of Homeland Security will "oversee the development, testing, implementation, and sustainment" of national security and emergency preparedness measures on all systems, including private "non-military communications networks." According to The Verge, critics say this gives Obama the on/off switch to the Web.

InB4 the usual suspects jump in with the expected "This is to be expected from ..." instead of exactly what they did to oppose this :) ie OTW activist where such complaints in this space mean and do JACK SHIT to sorting out their own mess

In America the government has emergency powers to take over radio and television, this seems to be a extension of that. In any case, all of the porn sites I visit are not based in the US, so I doubt it's going to affect me.

Sounds reasonable. Switch it off, switch it back on again. Problem solved.

Switch it off, wait 5 minutes for it to have time to reset itself, switch it back on again. Problem solved.

Steve Bridges, who died last month, did phenomenal impressions of the last three U.S. Presidents (and the Governator, too):
