They are both releases of Enlightenment? | The reference to it in your previous statement doesn't make sense, so I was just trying to figure out why you mentioned it. |
It was the assertion that it looks like an early Mac interface, which E16 does. E17 doesn't, unless you are taking some powerful drugs. |

Or use the right (or wrong) theme. _________________ Kali Ma

And for those people there is probably a rapid theme randomiser. |

@ppurka: Thanks for the videos in your sig. The widgets look much more palatable than early on in the development cycle. I'll definitely check it out when I rebuild my system here shortly. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

I have e17 on my system and now and then play around with it. Guess when it's stable (or rather, officially stable) I'll switch to it. Especially since Gnome 2.3x's days are numbered. _________________ Kali Ma

Yeah, the videos made me want to try it. The problem is the same as when I tried it last time: the theme. The previous default (the golden one) was too much, this is not much better. Isn't there a more... subtle theme? The ones I see in e17-stuff aren't much better (bevel overload!!). _________________ ~amd64 13.0 // linux-3.9 // gcc-4.8 // glibc-2.17 // xorg-server-1.14 // dwm-6.0 |

Didn't Muso have quite a subtle theme in one of his screenshots?
Anyway, I guess as soon as there really is a release, more themes will be made (that hopefully won't be broken by the next release/ update). _________________ Kali Ma

I was using e17 in 2002. Unfortunately, it wasn't very stable, and difficult to update, so I stopped using it.
Hopefully they've made some progress in this area over the past decade. _________________ My political bias. |

I like the one in the video enough to try, but will likely look at orhers too. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

There's a theme called Cerium. It's quite unbevelled but looks appleish. _________________ Kali Ma

How would I use them? Just going there and downloading them doesn't seem to be the right way, since there's a load of files in some of the subfolders. _________________ Kali Ma

cd detourious
make install | For darkness: | Code: | svn co http://svn.enlightenment.org/svn/e/trunk/THEMES/darkness
cd darkness
./build.sh
cp darkness.edj ~/.e/e/themes | For efenniht, the last step might appear to "fail", but the theme is built and installed just fine (this happens because it expects a specific parent directory structure mirroring the one in svn): | Code: | svn co http://svn.enlightenment.org/svn/e/trunk/THEMES/efenniht
cd efenniht
make install-home |

Thanks. I like detourious (or is it effeniht?) - the grey one. _________________ Kali Ma
