|
|
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-18718057
| Quote: | The crisis at the Fukushima nuclear plant was "a profoundly man-made disaster", a Japanese parliamentary panel has said in a report.
The disaster "could and should have been foreseen and prevented" and its effects "mitigated by a more effective human response", it said.
The report catalogued serious deficiencies in both the government and plant operator Tepco's response.
It also blamed cultural conventions and a reluctance to question authority.
The six-reactor Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant was badly damaged after the 11 March 2011 earthquake and tsunami knocked out cooling systems to reactors, leading to meltdowns and the release of radioactivity. |

Following that logic, all Japanese would be scientists.
So, what difference does that make, apart from making nuclear power plants seem even more risky. For if only the earthquake and the tsunami would have been the cause we could rest assured (for example here in Germany), since there are no heavy quakes here and certainly no tsunami near any of our plants. Now it seems like nukes go off because it's humans who run them (same in Tshernobyl) an who make mistakes. _________________ Kali Ma

There are no major fault lines in Germany, but if there were that would be where nuclear power stations would most likely be built. That's because major fault lines are often a good source of underground water. |

Exactly. The Japanese authored the report (noun). The bbc reported(verb) on the report(noun).
Note, the Japanese didn't report (verb) anything. _________________ Jesus Could Be Their Candidate and the Republicans Would Still Lose |

There are some minor ones, though. And you're right, they placed one right on top of it (Mühlheim-Kärlich in the Neuwieder Becken). No need for underground water, though, since the Rhine is there already.
It produced power for about 30 months and is now being dismantled. A great waste of money. _________________ Kali Ma

Safety of a product begins with its construction. In this case, we already knew that these reactors are unsafe before they were built in Fukushima. But for some reason, Japan just had to buy this shit, shit made by
General Electric. |
