Apparently the problem I encountered with installation of media-gfx/simple-scan (see here) depends on automake (look at this bugzilla).

I really appreciate to know how to fix it.

I noticed that sys-devel/automake-1.12 is now masked in portage so just unmerge it and try to install simple-scan aagain

Code:
emerge -Ca =sys-devel/automake-1.12

Please note that I'm running Gentoo ~arch. automake ebuilds installed are :

  1. sys-devel/automake-1.11.5
  2. sys-devel/automake-1.12.1


I ran :

Code:

# WANT_AUTOMAKE=1.11 emerge -1av simple-scan


And it worked.

I wait for a feedback from my friend d2_racing.

There also is a patch which now is available :
