Hi, the current app-laptop/pbbuttonsd-0.8.1-r3 is not ready for new kernels 3.* Nobody noticed? I'm going to file a bug report soon and provide a patch, I just took the 2.6 kernel behaviour for 3.* and seems to work.
Then on my amd64 I'm going to explore the sys-power/pm-utils, they are doing quite the same things like pbbuttonsd does with /etc/power/ with scripts and hooks, but more and better. So for example pm-utils has scripts for blocking HAL polling optical drives and so on for powersave. Why not porting our /etc/power out of pbbuttonsd to pm-utils or would pm-utils work out of the box for PowerBook G4? I'm going to try and let you know.
As far as I see the Apple section of pm-utils only supports MacBook*. _________________ ppc:PowerBook5,8 15"(1440)-G4/1.67, 2G(dev.notes[pdf]) | amd64:Core2Duo | amd64-prefix:OpenSuse@Core2Quad | Lila-Theme |

I guess you're right! I never noticed because I hadn't recompiled pbbuttonsd since 2.6.x (no changes). If you'd like to submit a patch, that would be helpful, otherwise, I'll look into it this weekend. _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |
