It may be possible to solve this problem by using the package.mask to prevent one of these packages from being selected. However, it also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in the dependeces of two different
packages, then those packages can not be installed simultaneously . you may want to try a larger value of the --backtrack option, such as --backtrack=30, in order to see if that will solve this conflict automatically.
I dont understand what this is telling me to do it only shows two packages this time its (dev-libs/libxm12-2.9.0-rc1) but the package dont seam to be important if I install it another comes up.

Clairvoyance is not a common trait among humans, also stop opening new threads if you don't bother providing info in the old ones.

I was referring to one of the last lines of emerge output, unless there are any problems.

(no parents that aren't satisfied by other packages in this slot)
dev-libs/libxm12:2

(dev-libs/libxm12-2.8.0_rc1::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
dev-libs/libxml2[python] required by(media-libs/mesa-7.11.2::gentoo,ebuild scheduled for merge)

>=dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.12[python] required by(app-text/gnome-doc-utils-0.20.10::gentoo,ebuild scheduled for merge)
after that the paragraph It may be possible to solve : is displayed its the one I posted before. Thanks .

I think I might be getting somewhere I just emerge >=dev-libs/libxml2-2.6.1 with the python flag set . Now it displays udev and gudev like it did with python

so I emerged udev with the gudev flag set and it is emerging 72 packages so I guess i will see if this works Hopfully

Try setting the introspection use flag.
Posting the output of emerge --info would be useful.

From your emerge info your using the fglrx video driver. http://pastebin.com/Nx2gwLhv shows that x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-295.40 and media-video/nvidia-settings-260.19.29 are installed. You should unmerge x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers and media-video/nvidia-settings.

In your emerge info you have INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev", keyboard mouse normally not needed since they have been replaced by evdev. You could check /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if keyboard mouse are used. This should not be causing any problems but you are building two drivers that are not used.

aortell24,

For future reverence
Code:
 ( emerge -pv gnome-light 2>&1 | tee emerge.txt && exit $PIPESTATUS )

to get the output captured to a file

Hello thanks alot man . You see this what I was talking about the emerge info workrd perfectly but this is all that was in the new file. The same thing that was happening when I redirected it into a file with the> operator. Thanks alot anyway.

Code:

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies
 * IMPORTANT: 2 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news to read news items.

.... done!

Add x11-libs/vte to /etc/portage/package.accept_keywords then you should be able to emerge x11-libs/gtk+-3.4.3

Thank you very much I emerged gtk+-3.4.3 along and it is installing 24 packages. But when I try to install the whole thing gnome-3.2.1-light it still says the same thing which makes no scenes being that its already installed. Thank you so much for the suggestion.
