There's something wrong with KDE4. I just compiled it on a fresh Gentoo install. I'm new to Gentoo, I don't know if it's normal that the compilation process took over 5-6 hours.
Very strange things are happening:
- Sometimes i log in and I can't launch any programs, they just don't start.
like Ktorrent:

Sometimes I use KDE normally for about half an hour and then I can't launch programs anymore. I click on the icons, but nothing happens. Right now I'm not able to launch programs anymore until I reboot. This happens when I use Fluxbox too.
- I installed kde-l10n, but the only language available in the system settings is American English. I wanted to set Italian.
I think I'm going crazy. |

To set the proper localization, follow this guide.
It's also advised to set up and use the UTF-8 Unicode character set with your Gentoo Linux system (see «Using UTF-8 with Gentoo»). |
