I miss reading Pravda. It was a good source of entertainment.

The closest things we have to it now are the People's Daily out of China and www.whitehouse.gov.

Oh, OK. Still, you probably shouldn't rely on news outlets whose uncorroborated sources are dead people.

yeah, burning them on the launchpad, like you guys prefer, or just falling apart is much more sophisticated.

You're missing the point. They knowingly sent him up in a totally fucked up piece of fail, knowing he would die, just so they could claim the glory of having sent the first man into space. That's what he was screaming about on the way back down. Read the article. Individual lives do matter in the grand scheme of socialism/communism.

no, that was Gargarin and he was fine. That guys died to show off a docking manover and crew switch.

Nasa blew up Challenger, knowing that the booster rockets were defective.

The Soviets cheated (big shock) with Yuri and some of the succeeding flights. The cosmonauts did not land in the spacecraft.

This may be, but we didn't have the whole world listening to them screaming bloody murder while they slowly crispened up like bacon in a skillet.

Two women.
Judy Resnik and Christa McAuliffe.

One of the Soyuz ballistic reentries was blamed on women on board by the head of the Russian Space Program. No lie.

I am sure everybody was glad he died. If he had survived - a man so full of rage - he would have killed everybody responsible for this incident. With his bare, burnt hands.

It might make a good retro sci-fi movie: By traveling through the mysterious Van Allen belt, he acquired the ability to shape-shifting and pass through solid objects. And, now, looking like an over-cooked pork loin and in constant pain, he's angry -- very angry -- and out for revenge against the Commies!

Yes.

Or maybe Matt Damon looks more like him. Maybe the guys who did Team America would consider the project.

Dragon successfully did a fly around of the ISS and it looks as if NASA will give the go for a berthing attempt tomorrow. Hopefully it will not pull a Progress maneuver and ram the station.

Hey, that was the Russians, not the Europeans. The European unmanned spacecraft always dock just fine, all three times. Then they turn around and burn up in the atmosphere.

Someday ESA will learn how to land a vehicle.

If NASA isn't in the space business any more, they need to be shut down entirely. Or their mission changed from Space to Surface or something.

Oh, that's right. With their new Muslim agenda, they're the agency for Salacious Appeasement.

This is the hand-job, in preparation for the actual docking, right? I imagine this is rich for metaphorical abuse, with terms like "probe", "coupling", and the like? I am saying this for richk449's benefit, of course.
