|
|
Hello,
i still have massive problems with kmail2 and kwallet. Every kde start it's random if the first dialog box is the kwallet password box or 12 imap-password-dialogs, that's really ...
But if i'm fast enough and can input the kwallet password there are still problems with sending mails, kmail2 asks for passwords for some accounts. Not sure why.
Is there any way to fix this? Why is there still no way to disable the kwallet password? Or is this a kmail2 bug? But why is it still unfixed after many many month? (i know, i should create a bug ticket...)
kmail 4.8.2
Thanks |

Dieter,
I have the same, frustrating experience as you. I filed a bug report with KDE, which was later removed. I suggest you do the same. The current situation is not acceptable from a use point of view. Serious and well balanced bug reports, hopefully change the situation. _________________ /Phil |

@philip: Your report was not removed but marked as Resolved/Invalid:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=298119
You got suggestions for possible fixes, but did not consider trying any of them (especially setting an empty password, which works great!)
@others:
Another problem could be the heavy startup procedure of nepomuk. Do you still get this behaviour, when you wait until virtuoso/nepomuk disc usage settled down (~1 minute)? _________________ "der mac dennoch wesen geil"

Hi Franz,
i never tried to set an empty password, eventually I'll try it in the future, nice hint.
@ all
In the meantime i found a little workaround which works fine for me too:
Change the following setting via the Gui systemsettings. I can't tell the exact naming cause my de language settings, but i'll try to translate it as close as possible.
So set the checkbox / bullet in this way, to start with an empty session:
Systemsettings/ start and stop/ session management/ start with empty session
After doing this, i have to enter my kwallet password once, depending on your kwallet settings of course, when it has to close
Much success, Andy. _________________ If you want to see a Distro done right, compile it yourself! |

@franzf, Thanks for pointing to my bugreport. Now I can re-iterate. I will try to set the password void. I will report on the results _________________ /Phil |
