There is nothing so inherently difficult about driving that it should be age-restricted at 18. It's not like teenagers have piss-poor motor skills. |
They do have piss poor judgement in general.

I'm sure there are other groups with generally poor judgement, but do we restrict their driving privileges on that basis?
Maybe I'm being naive, but I feel like learning to drive is an important part of growing up (in many places), and something that you should have a good amount of experience doing before you get out on your own.
Mostly, I just feel like having to wait that long to drive solo would be a pain in the ass, especially if you were trying to work a weekend job in high school. |

Insurance rates are adjusted by that basis.
