Johann Aman,

The easiest thing to do is to install that overlay. The info on overlays can be found here:http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/overlays/userguide.xml

After you get layman setup you can just emerge the package normally with emerge -av

The overlay you want is * openoffice-geki [Subversion] (http://gekis-playground.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

Good luck

The best thing would be to apply the patch to the libreoffice source inside your PORTAGE_TMPDIR and continue building. Else you'll waste a lot of time.

$ emerge -pav libreoffice

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild U ] app-office/libreoffice-3.5.3.2 [3.5.2.2] USE="branding cups dbus graphite gtk java kde mysql nsplugin opengl svg vba webdav xmlsec (-aqua) -binfilter -eds -gnome -gstreamer -jemalloc -nlpsolver -odk -pdfimport -postgres -test" 0 kB

This mean I don't have the overlay one, right?
How do I mask the non-overlay one?[/quote]

bjlockie,

You can check where it's pulling from with

Code:
equery l -p -o app-office/libreoffice

For example the list preceded with a P is from portage and an O is from the overlay
Code:
[-P-] [  ] x11-drivers/ati-drivers-12.3:1
[I-O] [  ] x11-drivers/ati-drivers-12.4:1

My x11-drivers/ati-drivers are pulling from * x11 [Git ] (git://git.overlays.gentoo.org/proj/x11

Good luck
