Is it just the scanned issue you had with Google's app, or were there other problems as well?
Reading The Secular Wizard.
What I thought was the last in Stasheff's A Wizrd in Rhyme series, but it is only 4 of 8. It'll be the last one I read in the series. A little too Christiany on the "good" side, and the link to "modern day" Earth doesn't really work for me. I have to admit I was surprised that the rhyming part "worked" as well as it did.
I finally found the second book of the Star Stone duology, so I'll try that. Unless it is markedly better, I probably won't read any more of his work.

The kindle app has better features and appears to have access to a larger library. As far as things wrong with google books, I kept finding errors in the text. I don't know if it was an OCR problem or what. For instance, there was a chapter in Brothers named The Second Marriage and the Second Family. Well the google books version had that chapter named The Second Mabbiaqe and tue Second Family. Mistakes like this were common. I haven't encountered any mistakes like that in kindle books.

The free classic books on amazon are from Project Gutenberg, BTW. I think Google's problem is that they rely on OCR instead of just reusing the CC books on PG.

| jumped on the band wagon and read "the help". I thought it was really good. finished my "econ in one lesson". i liked it, though think it has some problems. good points about unintended consequences though. |
