Can someone fork this to a project that is active and make it compatible with >gtk+-1?
I know very little about programming, but am familiar with scripting and programming concepts. I want to update the code for cervi-0.0.3 to work with modern library/package versions, but I am not familiar with how to start.
I want to play this game again, but the current version will not compile.

If I were to start a project at sourceforge to start a kind of fork or recreation of cervi, what would a good name for the fork be? Ideas? _________________ Do not repIy to or othErwise communicate with me if you use religious, spiritual or similar terminologies or references in your typings. |

hi mizery de aria
I don't like how people don't get answered with out a little explanation of what you are doing wrong with your post here are 3 major thing.
1.)
if you what to fork something or deal with programing you better off putting this post on a programing form then a gentoo one. Forking in my oppion is not the way to go here until you tried emailing the author back your changes and the author refuse to take the changes.
2.) it look like that you have not read
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-525.html
(read that now )
3.)

Some one might i don't know but it been my experience not many people want to do work for other people and gain nothing for them self.
You don't give a link to the project so giving a picture of Cervi is of no use.
If you want a developer to work on you project you will have to think like a developer giving a link to the source code for the Cervi would be of much help.
Another thing you want to do is put gtk+-2.0 or > instead of gtk+-1. gtk version one is going obsolete and a programmer who dose not read your post carefully might think you trying to take a gtk2 program an make it run with gtk+-1

The first place to start is to git the source code for your program you can get it from there site or in you case in /var/tmp/portage/games-arcade/cervi-0.0.3/work/cervi directore since portage trys to compile it and fails. If it susceed it delete it.
Your program use c or so git a book from a library on c and go from there. I would try to a simple console program first then try to compile a gtk2 app ext. |
