Hi all

I'd like to install Anjuta, but a 'emerge anjuta' resulted in a problem. While compiling gnome-iconedit i get the following error message:

Should I write a bug report or did I miss something?

I would file a bugreport against media-libs/gdk-pixbuf describing your error and making sure to note which xml-related USE flags you have defined.

Not a problem in the sense that "you must define USE xml", but it may be a clue as to why you are having trouble with this ebuild. For example, gdk-pixbuf emerged fine for me on a host that has USE xml2 defined. It may be the case that the ebuild needs tweaking to eliminate a dependency on libxml for users like you who don't have/want it.

Or, if you don't mind having libxml on your system, emerge libxml and that might solve your problem in another way.

Setting the use-variable to xml and xml2 solved the problem. Again, thank you! :D

I don't believe it: Another dependency-problem:

In what package is gnome-vfs-config located? Debian has it in gnome-vfs-dev but no such package exists for gentoo. I've allready installed gnome-vfs and gnome-vfs-extras but still... it's not working.

I have it in gnome-vfs. Which gnome-vfs versions do you have on there? I've got 1.0.5-r2 and 2.0.1, and qpkg reports that /usr/bin/gnome-vfs-config belongs to 1.0.5-r2.

8O Wait a moment, I have 2.0.1 and there is NO /usr/bin/gnome-vfs-config! How can I emerge gnome-vfs 1.0.5-r2?

BTW, you talked about qpkg. Where to find this?

Thank you very much!

Am I just too stupid or what? However, this time I can't figure out if there is a package missing.

Any ideas?

When using ebuild to build a specific version of a package, you lose emerge's dependency checking, and you may have an unfulfilled dependency. Sorry, you're probably better off trying:
Code:
# emerge /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-vfs/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r2.ebuild

...which should pick up dependencies for you also.

I too was trying to emerge anjuta when I ran into this problem. I had to go manually get the xml libraries (i edited my USE flags to include xml2 also).

Where is the place to subimt bug reports for this kind of thing ?

Thanks
