I was recently inspired to read the bible front to back, as I have never actually done so.
I'm half-way through Exodus and, so far, I would have to agree with energyman that the God of Abraham is obviously evil.
He's a jealous, elitist murderer and a genocidal maniac. He's also a big fat hypocrite in that he outright tortures (yes, tortures) the Egyptians for the same crimes of which the Hebrews were also guilty (i.e. slave owning), and kills a great many innocents for good measure.
I must say that it is very entertaining material. |
