Ich habe bei einem Updateversuch einen Digest error bekommen, der auch nicht weg wollte, nachem ich das distfiles Verz. komplett gelöscht habe. Neu syncen tat es auch nicht und 1 Tag warten brachte das gleiche Ergebnis. Verdächtig war auch, das 2 andere Rechner das Problem nicht hatten. Ich habe dann den kompletten Portage Tree von Rechner A nach B kopiert und dann funktionierte der Update.

Aber ich verstehe nicht warum, kann das einer erklären?

Das ist schwierig nachzuvollziehen. Du hast ja leider alle "Beweise" gelöscht. :)

geholfen. Ging mir wie dir, hab auch Dateien gelöscht und so. Ist nicht sauber, aber wenn du gerade etwas brauchst und du bekommst es anders nicht auf den Rechner...

Erklären? Ich habe nicht nach der genauen Ursache gesucht. Denke, dass sich da etwas mit der Checksummer verhakt hat. Aber mir ist es lieber, es funktioniert, als dass ich weiß, warum es nicht funktioniert...

Nunja, es kommt immer drauf an, beim zb aktuellen Fall wie

Calculating dependencies / * Missing digest for '/usr/portage/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources/gentoo-sources-3.3.2.ebuild'
... done!
ist vermutlich nur versäumt worden das Manifest neu passend zu aktualisieren - sowas kann einfach mal passieren.
In so einem Fall am besten einfach mal nachsehen ob es schon ein Bug-Report dazu gibt - wenn nein, ggf selbst einen erstellen.

Ansonsten ist bei so einem hartnäckigen Digest-Error, denn man meist nur auf einem Rechner/System hat meistens wohl auf ein beschädigtes Filesystem zurückzuführen, wie es zb durch unsauberes aushängen (hartreset Stromausfall) oder auch absterbende Sektoren auf der HDD einstehen kann.
Hier ist es wohl ratsam zunächst das Filesystem wieder in Ordnung zu bringen bevor änderungen vorgenommen werden - zb via
Code:
shutdown -r -F now

Und soweit das wieder passt den Tree eventuell komplett via
Code:
emerge-webrsync
mit einem Snapshot auszutauschen.

Kann das auch damit zusammenhängen, dass die Installation auf der Maschine schon 8 Jahre alt ist?

Eher nicht, der portage tree ist ja aktuell. Die Datei und die Checksumme passen nicht zusammen. Warum? Wissen wir jetzt alle nicht...

Naja, jetzt ja schon - nachdem ich den Portage Tree 1:1 von meinem Notebook rüberkopiert habe. Aber was solls, wenns jetzt läuft ;)
