Bruins.
Rangers get honorable mention (for a playoff game which briefly brought back my interest - Messier was CPT). _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

Have been a Pens fan since my grandfather took me to my first game 20 years ago. Unfortunately he is in a state of mind where he probably doesn't even remember me let alone hockey. But I keep cheering. Go Pens! _________________ | Starmen.net | |

| Chicago Blackhawks. If Toews comes back in the game before Phoenix makes too much damage they might end up in the conference finals. |

Bruins not look so hot the last few minutes of first period. Capitols not looking much better, really.
EDIT: 2 - 0
Someone needs to tell the Bruins that the goalie cannot WIN the game.
EDIT2: 2 - 2
Holy patootie! Back-to-back scores by the Bruins. At first I thought #2 was a replay, it happened that quickly (I wasn't actively watching). _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

I'd watch it if the games had a continuous clock. I hate it when an hour long game is stretched to three. _________________ At some stage, the Hindus locked on to the nation destroying concepts like ahimsa (non-violence), shanti (peace), satya (truth) — the ‘ass’ syndrome. |

But you'd be OK with a 3hr clock... weird. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

Bruins don't seem like a championship caliber team. At least not what I've seen of this and the last game.
Capitals seem like thugs more than hockey players.
EDIT: Wow, Boston came alive in OT... seemed like they actually showed up to win. Win just over 4min into OT. They can't do that in 7. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

You have to remember how the championship run started last year. They went to seven games with Montreal, after going down 3-2 in the series. Very similar things going on here.
I actually live in DC, but am from Boston; last year's victory was one of the sweetest moments in my life, given that I have been watching the Bruins for as long as I can remember. I hope they don't get dumped in the first round.... _________________ long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to light... |

I didn't catch any of last year's, and have since heard it took 7 games the whole way, unless I misunderstood. Ah, OK, they swept the Flyers.
Still, that's a baaaaad way to win with the way they're playing. If they were playing solid, that'd be different. Though I admit I've only seen a bit of the last couple of games. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

hmmm. I hate the opposite. when a 90 minute game has an arbitrary amount of time added to the end to account for lost time. I also don't like my games taking 5 days. |

Honestly, something in between would be good, excluding intermissions. 15-minute quarters or whatever, no time-outs. Play the game. If you suck, you'll lose, no time-out shenanigans. If your players need rest, you need more players (league rule changes as appropriate).
But let's face it, the reason for all of that is paying for it with commercials.
I absolutely despise "strategic" manipulation of the clock. Deliberate fouls, etc. In basketball, fouling for free-throws, or trying to bring the ball in court closer to your side, etc., etc. NFL seems to do similar things.
What keeps me from being a more active "fan" of hockey is the fighting. No other sport tolerates it. Look at what happens in the NFL, then look at the just suspended Lakers guy for an elbow. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

despite football's insane timing issues, it is nice not to watch commercials. |

I can't say as I'm surprised the Bruins lost. But that was probably based on 10-15 minutes of total time watch vs. the Capitals. Oh well. Maybe the Rangers. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.
