After upgrading my kernel to ck-sources-3.3 some of the special keys on my keyboard stopped working.
I have a steelseries 6gv2 mechanical keyboard (USB). There is a special "function" button which used to generate
XF86VolumeLower , XF86VolumeMute etc. events when being used in conjunction with one of the F1-F3 keys.
After the upgrade I couldn't use the keys to change the volume anymore.
In xev these button combinations do not generate the XF86 commands like they used to do.
Apparently I must have missed something while configuring the kernel.
Any tips on where to look ? |

thx for reply.
I configured the kernel myself from scratch using make menuconf as I always do. |

Well.
I looked at his page. I tried to follow the guide for configuring 3.2 kernels.
But the link to pages 3-6 were missing in the guide so I couldn't continue.
Here is the link:
http://kernel-seeds.audiodef.com/settings/3.2.x/settings-02.html
Note that in the end of the page it refers to Page 3 , but the link does not exist.
My config is already quite lean and the 3.3-ck sources should be fast enough.
I'm just wondering which settings in the kernel configuration to look at in order to fix my problem. |

Those are informational. You don't need those, and it's not required to follow all those pages in order to get a kernel seed up and running.
Look for "How to work with a kernel seed" on the home page, and then select x86 or x86_64 as appropriate. _________________ Gentoo Studio: http://gentoostudio.org
