The county’s No. 1 Republican takes a trip to the Holy Land for a few days and the crazies start crawling out. While Gov. Chris Christie was meeting with top business and political leaders in Israel, his pals back home were hanging out with America’s top “birther.”
Last Tuesday, 400 Republicans were in Morristown to listen to Jerome Corsi — author of “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” — revisit his race-baiting, made-for-the-internet theory that Barack Obama is ineligible for the presidency because he isn’t a natural-born U.S. citizen.
The fact that Obama released his Hawaiian birth certificate a year ago hasn’t stopped the tea party’s “birther” fringe from holding tight to its Kenyan fantasies. Tuesday’s shocker wasn’t the speaker; it was the guest list — including Morris County’s sheriff, a freeholder, a mayor and Assemblyman Anthony Bucco Jr. The shindig was sponsored by tea party groups and the Morris GOP.

Bucco and Sette aren’t faceless internet trolls. They’re real-life decision-makers. This is an embarrassment for Morris County’s ordinarily straight-laced GOP. Bucco writes laws, remember.
Sadly, Obama miscalculated when he caved to the birthers and released his birth records, thinking it would put the conspiracy to rest. Not in Morris County, apparently.
Nothing will appease the tinfoil-hat crowd. The conspiracy’s the attraction. These are the same people who believe climate change is a hoax, the CIA killed President Kennedy and the moon landing was filmed on a Hollywood sound stage. After all, what else could explain a black man in the White House? |

Who exactly here "knows" the truth? I think it's you guys who "know" the truth, on the basis of having, by virtue of pure blind faith, ruled out any possibility that the document is in fact a forgery.
Have you even looked at the latest analysis of the digital images released by the White House as Obama's "Birth Certificate"? I didn't think so.

That's the real "national embarrassment -- that a majority of our voting public are naive and/or ignorant enough to be conned into voting for this man, and that even after four years of demonstrated incompetence, of blurting "it's not my fault" at every turn, of throwing every special interest that supported him under his political bus at one time or another, of turning into an even worse authoritarian than George W. Bush and a real no-shit Big Brother, of the complete failure of his unconstitutional, still-born-but-reanimated domestic social agenda, of his Jacobin economic policies that squandered unprecedented Trillions and Trillions in deficit spending we will have to pay back in future taxes, of his turning Afghanistan into Vietnam 2.0, of his bringing the U.S. to the precipice of financial ruin... even after four years of that... many are still Zombie-ing up to vote for him again. That's embarrassing.

wait, you want to judge parties by their most extreme crazies? do you really want to go down that road?
we can point to the climate apocalyptic cults who keep saying impending disaster is just one more year down the line... or the incredible number of liberals who time after time clearly show they know nothing about economics or accounting. |

Eh. Worlds population keep growing and resources are shrinking. Earth has finite size. It is really high-school math to figure out that it wont last forever. Its no cult, just numbers. Weather global climate change happens or not, is hardly relevant because we are going to run out of lot of stuff in next few decades.
Whomever you guys vote for in next elections is going to implement same policy as Bush, Obama, etc., cos it is resource-grabbing-time.

even CERN is admitting that huge portions of the climate change movement have gone religious, ignoring science for political and monetary gain. only this time it's not hell... it's that ice age that never came, or those 20ft rising tides that never rose, or that catastrophic weather pattern from day after tomorrow that's supposed to bring blizzards to the desert and tidal waves to the entire coast. there are climate bloggers pushing total propaganda, claiming that southeast asian islands are now underwater because the water levels are rising due to melting ice. but if this hypothesis was true, the water wouldn't magically pile up in southeast asian... why is it not rising anywhere else? why isn't all the waterfront property in FL now underwater?
i'm not saying climate change doesn't exist. but all this bullshit about humans causing everything is a fucking joke. we end up with these ridiculous policies because people want legislation that makes them feel good... not necessarily because it has any lasting effect. fuck, household waste accounts for 1-3% of all waste produced in the US depending on what you count in the definition of waste. household recycling is a ridiculously expensive program, but isn't even a drop in the bucket. it's a fraction of a drop. but people do it because it makes them feel like they're doing something, even if they're not. |
