well, after updating the fglrx drivers, I occasionally found that I can play any video with xv output driver in smplayer instead of crashing my x desktop.
was it possible before? Have I been ignorant? |

| It was fixed quite recently, in 12.2 I think. Before that it was broken for months. |

yes, it starts at 12.2. 12.1 still crashes x. Hope more friends know it. |
