2. What do you think causes one to become a serial killer ?
3. What do you think a typical serial killer looks like ?
4. Do you believe that there are some "good" serial killers out there ?
5. What do you think can be done to prevent the serial killers ? |

USB. The next thing that comes to mind is driver incompatibilities, soon followed by high interrupt latency, which of course can lead to loss of data.
| Quote: | | 2. What do you think causes one to become a serial killer ? |
Widespread market domination leading to displacement of the older I/O port.
| Quote: | | 3. What do you think a typical serial killer looks like ? |
Could be like anyone. Could be the engineer working in that cubicle right next to you. Could be a fellow student with the next big idea. You never know who will design the next big thing, nor where market forces will lead to.
| Quote: | | 4. Do you believe that there are some "good" serial killers out there ? |
Sure. Firewire would be a good one, but alas it seems to have failed to find a significant following and it too is on the way out.

Adopt Amish-like beliefs to limit the introduction of newer technologies, and enforce these beliefs within the wider community. |

Nothing really, as I stated above it's either in an army(so he/she does it for a living) or he/she has a twisted mind. _________________ Gentoo on Uptime Project - Larry is a cow |

And here I thought the topic must be about getting rid of the traditional serial port, since USB handles most of those applications these days. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

Coastie.
She has made the Dean's List every year, I'm extremely proud of her. She will be a shoe-in for some Federal Law Enforcement position dealing in criminal forensics. She wants to specialize in serial killers. No shit. _________________ I am not young enough to know everything.

If you mean me, then you are, as usual, mistaken. I have worked for the school district for less than 15 years. For the first 27 years of my working career, I was in the private sector.
But, that was a nice try, little troll.

1. What first comes to mind when you hear serial killer ? Media-hype, mass fear, police budgets.
2. What do you think causes one to become a serial killer ? Social pressures combined with genetic potential, dysfunctional social structure from early childhood through adulthood which fosters a genetic predisposition.
3. What do you think a typical serial killer looks like ? I do not believe there is a "typical serial killer" and as such there also is then no "typical look" for them either.
4. Do you believe that there are some "good" serial killers out there ? No, I do not believe that there are any moral serial killers currently. I believe that conceptually one could exist.
5. What do you think can be done to prevent the serial killers ? Fix the social problems, fix the trend of Narcissism and Sociopathy that is being trained and nurtured in society, also some kind of standardized screening for the genetic indicators (brain scans showing no activity in empathy centers) to document who to closely assist and monitor. _________________

Yes, that's how it usually works. We refer to this phenomenon as "learned helplessness". The parents can have a real job early in life but their children grow up knowing nothing but sucking on the government tit. |
