"You don't have to be a foreign policy expert to know that the Cold War ended 20 years ago and that the greatest threat that the president has been fighting on behalf of the American people is the threat posed by al-Qaeda," Earnest told reporters.

If there was ever a doubt about the outcome of 2012 election.

Thing is, Obama's been sucking up to Russia (never wise for an American president, just ask Jimmy Carter). He asked Medvedev and Putin for help, and now we have Pravda attacking Romney & trying to help Obama.

It is laughable, but not for the reasons you cited.

Dude, regardless of how incompetent Obama is or perceived to be, if his opponents make statements like these in 2012, 30 years after cold war, 11 years after 911. He'll get what he deserves.

Dude, regardless of how inept Romney might be, having PRAVDA endorse you in the USA doesn't help your case. Especially when most people who actually do vote are older and know what Pravda is all about.

what matters is how the majority of americans view russia
most view them as hostile
ergo most will disagree with the notion that the end of the cold war marked an end with problems from Russia any more than it did North Korea.
Russia still isn't our friend, still is the largest supplier of weapons to our sworn enemies, and still tries to fuck us on foreign policy decisions at every opportunity.

Most americans are aware of this. Who does that give the advantage to?

so you are trying to tell that most people in the USA are still stuck in the cold war and can not understand and/or cope with modern politics.

Well, that explains the republican voter pretty well.

Owner of one of the companies I worked for was kinda the same. He kept talking about cold war, communism, dictators, Tito, etc etc. In the end I had to tell him to go to a library instead.
I mean dude, its 2000, Im still sexually active, do you really think I want to talk about a regime I have no idea about. All I did was skate, chase girls, and dodge marxism classes.

Apparently you folks were asleep when Vlad the destroyer made the evil USA a priority in his re-election.

Example article.

The dynamic with Russia changed when Putin entered the seen. Putin's a KGB thug who is becoming more dictatorial as time goes on.

because he pulled Russia out of the clutches of the Mafia, stopped the selling out to western corporations and succesfully reduced corruption and poverty while increasing growth and social security.

Yeah, sounds awefull.
