So, what are you drinking now, in Oklahoma? They have only that watery 3.2 beer there, don't they?
They do sell stronger, imported stuff in liquor stores.

But what have you been drinking? Lone Star? Budweiser? Coors?

Oh, wait. Traveled around the planet to be with a female. He's drinking whatever she's drinking. White Zinfandel? Apple Martinis? :P

I drink the imported stuff I just mentioned. And some of the non-weak Budweiser.

hrmm...my old stout that took bronze at GBBF was only £2.30/pint, and that was after a price hike. Was £2.10 before.

do you really have to hit the liquor store to get the stronger stuff?
I've been able to find some of the brit "generics" in pubs and regular grocery stores. Bombardier, Hobgoblin, Fullers (ESB, 1845, London Pride, London Porter), Old Speckled Hen, things of that sort. Not award winners, but better than mass-distributed American swill.

Plus there are the american micro/craft brews that do a damn fine job. Really wish some of them, the need for an import is near zero. The brewery about 3 miles from my house does some great stuff (St Arnolds), I'd be surprised if they don't distribute to Oklahoma.

Yeah. The state laws don't let grocery stores stock stronger stuff, nor at certain times of the day/week. There's quite a few dry counties as well I've not really looked into the state laws though.

Sierra Nevada, Rogue, Anchor Steam, St Arnolds, Dogfish Head, Magic Hat, New Belgium, all do very good stuff. There are tons of em.
If I do domestic it's normally something from St Arnolds (since it's local, it's ridiculously fresh) or, Dogfish Head has a "90-Minute IPA" that's on the stronger side, but very nice. Can get those in a plain old grocery store in Texas, can't figure why Oklahoma is so different. It may be one of those ancient laws on the books accounting for all those drunken native americans. Then again porn is illegal in Oklahoma, so who knows.

The craft/micro breweries seem to get the IPA's very right. Not so much on the standard English pale ales or broon ales, but spot-on with the IPA's. Actually, if I dare say it, typically better than the ones I've had abroad, and likely because a)it's received a stronger focus, b)IPA's do better with the warmer weather we have over here on average. IPA's are pungent enough that, while not ideal cold, are still very flavorful cold, while the typical english stuff absolutely needs to be cellar temp, else all the wonderful subtle flavors are masked.

The reason why Brits get so drunk when they're on vacation in Europe? So they can cope with all the annoying German tourists who think they own the place.

significant in which way? as the next victim of 'big money'? as a country who fell faster than a lead duck? as a country who praises some PM bitch who destroyed the middle class more efficiently then Lenin and Stalin together?

oh wait, I know, your country is really important. USA's closest ally and stuff like that. Also called: lap dog.

Last I checked, we have 6 military bases in the U.K. and 227 in Germany, so who's the lap-dog? :P

Now now children, play nice. I've seen my fair share of "drunken violent germans" but do carry on stereotyping whole countries.
