Running emerge --depclean on multiple ~amd64 machines marks certain system-profile packages for removal. I don't remove these of course. What is the appropriate way to mark the packages for portage to not suggest removing them?
Code: | $ sudo emerge --depclean -p
...
!!! 'app-editors/nano' (virtual/editor) is part of your system profile.
!!! Unmerging it may be damaging to your system.
app-editors/nano
selected: 2.3.1
protected: none
omitted: none
!!! 'sys-apps/less' (virtual/pager) is part of your system profile.
!!! Unmerging it may be damaging to your system.
sys-apps/less
selected: 444
protected: none
omitted: none
sys-fs/sysfsutils
selected: 2.1.0
protected: none
omitted: none
All selected packages: app-editors/nano-2.3.1 sys-apps/less-444 sys-fs/sysfsutils-2.1.0 |
Thanks. |

Moved from Portage & Programming to Duplicate Threads. You're a little bit late to the party.
Code: | emerge --noreplace less nano sysfsutils | See depclean wants to uninstall 'less' and --depclean wants to remove nano! for the history and explanation.
