Putting traditional LaTeX aside and word processor type programs such as Openoffice, would anyone know of a desktop publishing suite available on linux? I mainly use pagemaker, but I wish that I didn't have to boot into windows for that purpose. |

i've used scribus a bit. it is more like quark than pagemaker, i.e. you have to draw text and image boxes before being able to place either. of course i have not used scribus enough to really give you the differences. I use pagemaker and quark on a daily basis and scribus is really good for a repllacement. not perfect yet, but pretty darn good for it still being under 1.0. |
