Hello folks,
I've tried to configure xfree86 to run with my Ultra 10 and my CTX VL950 monitor. When I type startx, I get the following:
Using vt 7
(EE) VGA(0): Cannot read V_BIOS (5)
(EE) VGA(0): Virtual height (0) is too small for the hardware (min 1)
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Fatal server error:
no screens found
It is more than likely a problem on my part, since I am a little unclear as to what video card setting I should use. I first tried a generic, then I read on some posts here to use sunffb, but I didn't see that on the list of video cards on the list.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Cronos,
The ultra10 has an integrated 3D Rage chipset. Choose this as the video card. I'll post my XF86Config file tonight as I'm at work right now

You probably need to specify the HorizSync and VertRefresh for your monitor to get it to pick up correctly and find a useable modeline. |
