emerge --update openmotif AFTER kde <--> problem?

Hi all,

This is I think not a very difficult question, but I'm not very sure about it.
I've emerge --updated kde-base/kde to 3.0.3. Now later on, I discovered that there was a newer openmotif version available. I've emerge --updated openmotif AFTER kde.

Now is my question if there can things go wrong? I've looked into the kde-3.0.3 ebuild and figured out that it depends on it so do I need to re-emerge kde?
(KDE IS working fine so far.....but I just want to make sure things are fine)

Somewhat related: I noticed that upgrading openmotif caused emacs/xemacs to stop working since they were looking for libXm.so.2. I had to re-emerge them to get them to work.
