I've installed my creative dxr3 and pioneer dvd drive and xine with the d5d plugin. When i go to play dvds all i get is audio. Has anyone ever had this problem before. Any ideas would he great.

We need to know some things:
1. Which program do you use to view DVDs?
2. Did you compile this program withe the USE "DVD option?
3. Are you able to mount CD-ROMS in this drive? If yes you should also be able to mount DVD-ROMS.

jay, I think the DVD is set up right, because he gets audio. Try disabling support for your DXR3 (if any), and if that doesn't work... I dunno, try "emerge ogle ogle-gui" and try it.  |

delta407: you're probably right, but I want to be sure, because this did happen so often that I helped somebody just to find out thet the solution was plain and simple.
If you get only audio in ogle too, make sure that you have all necessary codecs installed, libdvdread, libdecss etc... installed. I also recoomend to check out mplayer, if possible.

I'm trying that right now but before when I had mplayer and ogle installed mplayer and ogle would both exit with segmentation faults when i tried to load up dvds. And i can mount my dvd drive and i compiled wiht the dvd option in my use file
