I'm having problems getting a GUI up with a fresh rc5 build. I've got Xfree installed and working. I can run startx and get a barebones X session with a few xterms displayed.
Now I'm trying to get gnome installed, but get this

plonk ~ $ emerge gnome
Calculating dependencies -
!!! all ebuilds that could satisfy ">=gnome-base/gnome-applets-2.4" have been masked.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Just getting Xfree to start has aged me 5 years, gnome could kill me  |

gnome-applets-2.4 should be stable for sparc, maybe there are other things required which aren't stable yet... i'd try

| I marked gnome-applets as stable a few days back. Could you emerge sync and then retry? |
