Posted: Mon Nov 14, 2011 8:01 pm Post subject: [SOLVED] Deluge segfaults with python2.7 |
|
|
Hi
I just migrated back to gentoo after using for long time ubuntu distro. However I couldn't solve one problem which is affecting my box from the succesfull emerge of gnome3.2 and other programs. I just need a good torrent client and my favorite is deluge.
However when I try to run it I get a segfault. I was trying to debug and reemerged all python packages with the "nostrip" feature and gddb CFLAG but still I cannot find where the problem lies.
dmesg says:
| Code: | [81305.610417] deluge[10235]: segfault at 1c1e6 ip 000000000001c1e6 sp 00007fffade3bab8 error 14 in python2.7[400000+1000]

I tried all deluge version available in portage, I downgraded python2.7 from python-2.7.2-r3 to python-2.7.1.
gdb isn't getting me anywhere

I would appreciate any suggestion (any package to merge with nostrip option to get better gdb results)?

Did you get python-updates and forgot to run python-updater? _________________ "der mac dennoch wesen geil"

Ok, I found the solution.
I selected the python2.7 in eselect python (I had previously selected 3.2 as default) and run python-updater. It has reemerged dev-libs/boost against the python2.7 and then I reemerged again deluge and it is working without a problem now. No segfaults.[/quote] |

The solution works but you dont need to run python-updater ,only compile setting old python and when finally you can set the newest again.I dont know why deluge develpers dont fix it , its something that they can skip much time. _________________ ln -s /user/artic /user/arctic |
