When i try to install pidgin i get the following error>Is there anyway to mask this package or use an upgrade or downgraded version of this package? Below is the output of the failed emake and the information the error messages requested

please post the actual error (the 50-100 lines before, where the actual error happend). the post information is rather content-less

I have a vague idea:
change you cflags to CFLAGS="-march=k8 -O2 -pipe" - that is a capital o (as in letter) and not zero (as in the number) in -O2.
