[SOLVED] Cannot build XBMC-9999 for about 10 days already

Hi!

Some time ago (several weeks or so) I was successful in emerging the xbmc-9999 package. But I had to completely reinstall the system and now it's not possible to emerge it.

xbmc-10.1 compiled ok, but even the after installing 10.1 I still cannot build 9999 and the error is in the same place

But I think it should be reproducable since I had this problem in a just-installed gentoo system, and after reinstaling the whole OS again. I also tried to emerge it with all USE flags being turned off and faced the same error.

How can I apply the patch from http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/12001 before (while) emerging?

Finally i compiled successfully xbmc since libpng update.

I resume the steps I followed for those, like me, are not developer and are not always comfortable when it comes to patch a program.

There is also a small problem with this installation (and I did face it in the previous successful install) - everything is played except Xvid mpeg4 files.

For xvid files a black screen kind of opened (partially, a black background is displayed) and there is sound - but no video.

I have the same problem here with videos encoded in mpeg4. I used this line in the mplayer output:

Seems like I've already waited for several weeks without luck =(. My previous successful build was more than 10 days ago. Since then nothing changed. I googled for some users having same problems in previous versions of ffmpeg. But my version is newer than the one that they had when their problem was solved. So currently no answer.

Count it as a workaround, but sometimes it helps to let xbmc-9999 compile with internal libraries (esp. libav vs. ffmpeg asynced stuff can cause troubles)

To do so, run:

Ok, the xvid problem is solved by turning off VAAPI in XBMC
