Is anyone else experiencing problems with the "View your posts" link?
When I go to "https://forums.gentoo.org/search.php?search_id=egosearch" I come to "https://forums.gentoo.org/index.php" instead of the list of my recent posts. This is very annoying, because it is more difficult to monitor the activity in the threads I have posted in. _________________ If you've got nothing nice to say, you're probably not alone... |

This seemed to have worked, thank you.

Yes, is this a known bug? _________________ If you've got nothing nice to say, you're probably not alone... |

I experienced this already for quite a while. Sometimes also newposts (instead of egosearch) fails with the same "error" (going to the main menu).
Usually this lasts only for a few hours, and afterwards the problem vanishes.
Perhaps it is when some servers are updated or when the traffic is too high? |

This started fairly recently for me (just a few days ago). I have had Firefox 5 longer than that, so I don't really think Firefox is to blame.. But I don't know. _________________ If you've got nothing nice to say, you're probably not alone... |

I too have been experiencing this intermittently, but only with Firefox 5. Firefox 3.6.x has been rock solid for me.

Same with firefox 8. Deleting gentoo-forums cookies does not solve the issue.
Cheers!
Update: After restarting the browser, I am able to view my own posts after deleting the cookies from the gentoo forums. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved.

Egosearch stopped working two days ago as I got back after a couple of days not using Gentoo forums. I have cleaned all cookies about forums.gentoo.org, restarted my browser, been doing that since yesterday, three times, the problem still persist.

Using Firefox, perhaps? I have to occasionally do Tools / Clear Recent History / Cache.

Yup, Firefox 10.0.5.
I've cleared the cache completely forums.gentoo.org cookies, closed firefox, opened Firefox, cleared the cache again and made sure there was no forums.gentoo.org cookie, closed firefox again, opened firefox, went to https://forums.gentoo.org/search.php?search_id=egosearch (from my favourites), logged in, saw my posts. I then closed firefox went to egosearch again, logged in, landed on the index page...
I repeated it all through, checking "Log me each visit", landed on the index page the second time again.
Likewise, clicking the "View my posts" sends me to the index page.
The only difference is when I was redirected to my egosearch page, there was an sid=xxxx argument besides the search_id=egosearch.
Really annoying. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Just to be clear, my Band-Aid is not to erase any cookies but just to erase the cache. Here's what I do exactly: click Tools on the menu bar, select Clear Recent History, select "Everything" as the time range to clear, open the Details, select only the Cache check box, click "Clear Now".
I call this a Band-Aid because there's obviously a bug (in Firefox, I believe) and this is just a temporary fix. Does this not work for you? Your symptoms match mine.

I've just selected "Everything" instead of "Last hour". Now it does! Thanks a lot for your help! _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
