alsa0.9-rc3 --> bad sound quality?

Hi,

I've got a Terratec DMX Xfire 1024; I emerged rc3 for some features (digital in etc) but with rc3 the sound quality is very poor.

Songs sound too "high" and the bass is almost completely gone.
And I only felt pain in my ears

Than I emerged rc2 and the sound was good again.

I don't think that it is a gentoo problem, but maybe someone has an idea how to solve this.

I think you are right. It looks like they have masked rc3 for more testing.
