Hi
I'm planning to buy a desktop replacement, and were thinking of sony PCG-GRT716S or PCGGRT816S, but of course i want it linux compatible ( gentoo indeed ). Did anyone have chance to try it with linux? I didn't really find something consistent when googeling...
Ah, other laptop, The Area-51 of Alienware ( http://www.alienware.co.uk/system_pages/area-51m.aspx ) is a beast, very nice design, upgradable... checkit out! - But I wonder if someone tried it with linux. Only drawback: Seems a bit expensive.

Check this one. There is a Chipset link and it looks like everything is compatible. What I like about these guys is that you can choose your OS. Win2k is available and NONE is the default choice :)
My personal lappy came from them naked and runs Gentoo. But I have bought several for a client that uses apps that will not run on XP so we got them with 2k. |
