WTF!

Quote:
In October 2010, it was reported by The Hollywood Reporter that Colin Farrell was on the top of the short list, which included Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender, to play Doug Quaid, the role Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the 1990 version.[14] On January 11, 2011, it was announced that Farrell had secured the role.[3]

Awesome! Nothing makes a film better than a shitty remake. Underscores how much the original rocked. Can't wait for this clusterfuck to land.

Shitty remake is better than a shitty sequel.

Colin, though? Seriously? Bruce Willis would easily do a better job.

non, non, no! Bruce Willis would be a horrible choice! With Bruce the film might even be good. No, it must be as shitty as possible - Colin is a great choice.

No, no. Okay, here, I've got it. This is perfect:

Douglas Quaid / Hauser: Danny Bonaduce

Vilos Cohaagen (evil corporate dude): Donald Trump

Richter (Cohaagen's ruthless enforcer): Gary Busey

Lori (Quaid's blonde "wife" on Earth): Courtney Love

Tiffany (Hauser's racially ambiguous girlfriend on Mars): Snookie

George / Kuato (mutant with extra torso (Kuato) that is precognitive and telepathic with extrudes itself from his abdomen to dispense wisdom): Michael Moore (George) and Danny DeVito (Kuato)

Bennie (hustling mutant cab driver): Kanye West

Fat Lady (whose head explodes): Rosie O'Donnell

Not bad Boney. I would make one change. Instead of Rosie O'Donnell, I would cast Sally Strothers in the Fat Lady role.

Here. Look at this picture. Can't you just see that being Danny DeVito sticking out of Michael Moore's stomach?

I don't know. I think this looks more like Rosie. Then again, it also looks like Sally Struthers. Okay, you've convinced me. Here's another one, and it looks more like Sally Struthers.

That could work. If we use Sally Struthers there, then Rosie can be one of the mutants.

Trump would be wrong for the role IMO. You're supposed to dislike the corporate dude.

Also, I like DeVito, so don't know that it'd be a good fit for a supposed-to-fail remake. Maybe the relatively unknown little person from Twin Peaks (backward dream scene) or Willy Wonka (Burton).

The movie was made around when I was born... and I saw it when I was in my teens (on Star movies). Would love to see the remake (reminds me of the good old days). :)

And the special effects and makeup people could save a bunch of money.

It was on the Japanese news this morning. They had a big segment on it. My wife wants to see it now, but I'm not really sold on it.

I don't like the lead guy, plus this is a remake of a movie which stared Ahnold. Totally blasphemous.
