Did you ever fix this? I'm having the same problem. It happened right after installing alsa. Xmms was installed first. It would start, but would give a "check your sound card" message when trying to play anything. After alsa, though, I got the same as your 2nd message, there. |

Never mind - I fixed it. I had to remove all the "libALSA" files from /usr/lib/xmms/Output. |

why does not the "always on top" function work when using GNOME2?
