Split from "alsa use flag in portage's gimp !"
Moved from Gentoo Chat to Off the Wall as it is a GIMP thing. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

WTF? next you will be moving posts about the gentoo-sources from kernel to OTW
wtf is this not gentoo-specific. They are talking about USE flags (a GEntoo thing) on a package in the gentoo tree.
This should be moved to Multimedia
It fucking helps when the moderating team actually knowns what the forums are for (ie Gentoo )
Maybe you should stop reading and posting soo much Oblahblahblag BS here and actually have this forums be used for what it is meant for _________________ A free press is the unsleeping guardian of every other right that free men prize; it is the most dangerous foe of tyranny. Well... Naib... thank you for trying to make this forum better.
I might have wrongly expressed some smiling to the report made by some Gentoo-Dev and argued about in the report-violations thread with the primitive idea of supporting some students around.
However, you know... I do not really care about that move, and, in any case, I do would like this thread is not used as an argument for hard words against any member of the community, would he be administrator.
Regards,

What about the topic is relevant to Gentoo? Seems to me the actual topic of discussion is a compilation flag for GIMP and the USE reference is a tangent which happens to be a common term on Gentoo.
My initial reaction was to not move it, then I re-read the post and realized it really isn't a Gentoo topic. Unless I missed it.
EDIT:
I've changed my mind. The relatively recent ZOMG! KILL IT mentality of moving support topics to OTW is just something I can't get behind (unless it is clearly a ? for a different OS). Someone else can ZOMG! KILL IT. _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.

Aaaaand yet threads like: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-881473.html
quite happily reside in a relevant support section.
A thread on a binary package (adobe, so no compile options at all) causing lag and the fix is an option provided by upstream.
Sorry but your argument that a compile option is a tangible reference and that was your justification for moving it to OT in the 1st place is weak, really weak especially in light of this binary packages configuration option. _________________ A free press is the unsleeping guardian of every other right that free men prize; it is the most dangerous foe of tyranny. I disagree that it was weak. If you haven't noticed, SOME have decided that if it is not specifically a Gentoo problem, it gets moved to OTW. Just trying to configure KDE? -> OTW "not a Gentoo problem." That's primarily why I moved it. But I also disagree with that practice (which is why I moved it back).
As for the thread you linked to, I've never seen it, don't know what it is. If it needs to be moved, report it (which is how "this" thread was brought to my attention). _________________ lolgov. 'cause where we're going, you don't have civil liberties.
