kajongg is not running. My wife wants it. NOT GOOD!
OK, here is the error:
| Code: | sebschub@tux ~ $ kajongg
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/kajongg", line 87, in <module>
initLog('kajongg')
File "/usr/share/apps/kajongg/util.py", line 120, in initLog
handler = logging.handlers.SysLogHandler('/dev/log')
File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/logging/handlers.py", line 715, in __init__
self._connect_unixsocket(address)
File "/usr/lib64/python2.6/logging/handlers.py", line 730, in _connect_unixsocket
self.socket.connect(address)
File "<string>", line 1, in connect
socket.error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory |
I rebuilt python (all installed version), kde-base/libkdegames and kajongg itself. I ran puthon-updater. What can I do? _________________ Gentoo on Intel Core Duo 2 E6750, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, NVIDIA 8800GTS (amd64)

tomk. you are right, it does not exists because normally I do not care about logs (maybe I should) and I wanted to reduce write on SSD. After starting syslog-ng, it works. _________________ Gentoo on Intel Core Duo 2 E6750, Gigabyte P35-DS3P, NVIDIA 8800GTS (amd64) |

I wish people would tell the developers when there are problems. Sigh.
Anyway I just committed a patch making sure kajongg works even if no syslogger is running. This is for KDE SC 4.7, I do not plan to backport it. But you can easily patch your local util.py
