Southern California's premier open-source software event is just around the corner, running from Friday, February 25 through Sunday, February 27. Several
Gentoo developers will be there; it will be even bigger than last year. We'll be showing off some nifty devices running Gentoo, and we'll be giving out installation media. Whether you're a developer, user, or simply curious, be sure and stop by booth #52. See you there!

Not that I know of. But every year we bring a variety of boxes, everything from laptops to desktops to weird embedded things. I posted a picture and writeup on our awesome toys from last year's show.

Oh, OK, so primarily personal stuff people have put Gentoo on and not commercial products sold with Gentoo or with the primary function provided by Gentoo?

We've got some of the Google Cr-48 laptops on display; ChromeOS is based on Gentoo. Everyone is pleasantly surprised to find out Google chose Gentoo for their stuff. There's also a Nail Kit (embedded ARM) and some kinda mini MIPS hardware firewall/VPN/crypto box. Also our own x64 laptops are displayed to show the neat things goin' on in the latest Fluxbox/KDE/Xfce environments.

I am more surprised that people are surprised that Google choosed Gentoo Linux for their ChromeOS when there couldn't be a better metadistro to create such a customized environment. Ignorance is a bliss. Gentoo is on the GO!

I wrote a couple of Planet Gentoo posts on Saturday and Sunday's events at SCALE. Sunday's post has a couple of pictures: Gentoo booting on IBM's POWER7 server and a group shot of the Gentoo developers.

I was wondering about dual booting Android and Gentoo on mobile devices. That will be popular.

I heard people did this with Debian.
