I started with Stage1, running on a k6 400mhz; The problem i run into after running emerge system is the following:
!!! Error: The Ebuild did not complete successfully
!!! Function src_omplie, line-186, exit code 2
!!! Parallel make failed
!!! Emerge aborting on /usr/portage/dev-lang/python/python-2.2.l-r.ebuild
What am i doing wrong? |

You started the install from stage 1, meaning you are compiling everything for yourself, right? I'm just checking because lots of people are trying to use a pre-built 686 build for a K6 which will not work.
If that's the case then your emerge could have died for random reasons and it might work if you just attempt to try the thing again. If it dies in the same spot then I would recommend using less aggressive compiler optimizations. I haven't had it die on python before though and I use some pretty aggressive options. Could you post your CFLAGS and USE variable settings please? _________________ if i never try anything, i never learn anything..

The second unrelated question that used to be in this thread has been split off into here. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |
