Hi...
I wondering about, that Gentoo is the only Linuxdistri which runs on my Dual G4@1,83GHz machine in SMP without problems. No stocking... Now I am back on Gentoo. Thnx Gentoo.

As said here on July 14, 2010: [Linux on PowerPC] for today Debian and Gentoo remain the distributions with best PowerPC support. Others have abandoned PPC due to decreasing available hardware even if there were some new platforms such as the Sony PS3.
Don't know why Yellow Dog Linux (YDL) should not support your Dual G4 at its time? I did not even know there exist Dual G4.
Too bad, the latest mobile PPC is the G4, there never has been a mobile G5. _________________ ppc:PowerBook5,8 15"(1440)-G4/1.67, 2G(dev.notes[pdf]) | amd64:Core2Duo | amd64-prefix:OpenSuse@Core2Quad | Lila-Theme |

did you say Debian and Gentoo?
I say Gentoo PPC and CRUX PPC, I have different Power Architecture based machines and I think so. _________________ my blog: http://linuxpowerpc.blogspot.com/ |

I have tested Debian (stable and testing). With non-SMP-Kernel runs fine, and with SMP Kernel mouse and keyboard at total crazy stocking (come to hold and go on). No really work possible. The same with other Distris, too. Only Yellow Dog Linux was workable. Only little come to hold with mouse and Keyboard. But i don't really like RPM. Gentoo and BSD is the only System and yes MacOS X also runs really fine on my Sonnet-Tuned Dual G4.
