Tip request: XFCE without HAL

Hi All,

I like to keep my Gentoo on a stable but cutting edge so I'm interested in removing HAL from my system and switching to udisk etc. I'm aware of the state of things with Xorg, automounting etc and lingering dependencies on HAL. I"m mainly looking for tips/advice from anyone that made the switch already. Insight on how other distros accomplish this task are welcome

And use ~arch version of Xfce:

=xfce-base/xfce4-meta-4.8_pre
(and whatever packages it needs as dependency)

Moved from Desktop Environments to Duplicate Threads, please follow up to Tips, and tricks for ConsoleKit/PolicyKit/udev, without hal.
