With the new 2.6 kernel, which runs MMU-less, we could do a port to the Z80, shall we? Gentoo on Gameboy, yes or no?

No, it's not possible, because the Z80 is a 8-bit CPU, you will need a 16bit CPU as a minimum for a µlinux, 32bit for a "normal" one.....
Z80 also just can handle a maximum of 64KB without bankswitching, even the smallest kernel will need more than 256KB...

You're better off trying to rewrite MINIX.

Now, the GBA - that's a whole other story.

32-bit ARM with THUMB extensions.

ARM7, perhaps?

Interesting fact: Palms and PocketPCs alike use ARM processors.

Interesting feature: THUMB is a 16-bit instruction set.

Horrible misfeature: The GBA has a 16-bit wide bus.
