|
|
Hey all,
I would like to set up a small office server running gentoo. It needs to be small, quiet and support about 20 users for the following services/apps;
apache
bind/dns
dhcpd
OpenVPN
Any ideas where I can look or who to speak to in the uk?

I don`t get it. You need someone because...? _________________ "Dear Enemy: may the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment."

Take a look at the several "how to" at http://www.howtoforge.com/. They have "perfect" setups for this kind of server.
For the backup question, my suggestions would be:
pop3(s)/imap(s): Dovecot
smtp(tls/auth): postfix
As far as backups go-- if you're only backing up *nix workstations rsync. If you're backing up windows and *nix then amanda or bacula would be far better choices. |

Do you really need a full-fledged "bind" for 20 users? dnsmasq would do, and serve DHCP for you too. _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here
