im using a 64-bit system, but I installed some 32-bit apps (adobe reader & such) that look horrible because I do not have a 32bit qtcurve library _________________ ------------------------

You'd need a 32-bit chroot to compile this. _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

You can, as said, create a 32 bits chroot on your 64 bits os, and compile the package there. You will need to compile quite a lot of packages before, though.
You can as well pick a binary package from other distro and just put the binary on the right folder, provided that it's compatible with the rest of your binaries and that you are not lacking any other piece. I've done this in the past with varied results, depending on the offending package. |

You don't understand because you probably didn't read the posts from the OP, where he says:
Quote: | im using a 64-bit system, but I installed some 32-bit apps (adobe reader & such) that look horrible because I do not have a 32bit qtcurve library |
That sentence is crystal clear. |

Unless you are using the multilib overlay, on a 64 bits system (and it doesn't matter it's multilib) you won't get a 32 bits qtcurve.so file, so, the 32 bits applications on your 64 bits OS will look odd, unthemed. In other words, on a 64 bits OS you get this file:
Code: | /usr/lib64/qt4/plugins/styles/qtcurve.so |
But not this one:
Code: | /usr/lib32/qt4/plugins/styles/qtcurve.so |
That's the problem the OP has. |
