As some of you may have noticed, the site is down.
I had the nice idea of switching to hardened, and now the system won't boot anymore. I don't know what went wrong, I reverted the bastille configuration, the kernel is fine and it was working before, but it will stick at init and go no further than that saying "VFS unable to mount: cannot open "(null)"" (yes, I've googled a lot but no solution). I should be able to restore from a backup, but I don't know if it will work or how long it will take. I'll be on holidays from 29th July until 2nd August and then again from 4th August until 14th August. If the site is not up before the 29th July, I ask you to be patient and forgive this messy guy =) I'll try to bring it back online as soon as I can.
Cheers,

Neo2,
After your Holiday and getting your site back up, you might want to start a new thread and rename your *.iso away from 2008.
Its no longer possible to install the Official gentoo 2008 and update it to todays gentoo. CDs/DVDs with 2008 in their name make me nervous now.
Enjoy your Holiday and your Gentoo _________________ Regards,

NeddySeagoon,
Thanks for pointing that out. Actually I did already migrate to the 10.0 profile and already stated it on the site/forum. I mantained the name just for convention and to avoid spawning a new thread: sometimes it's easier to have just one place where to share information. I'll have no problem starting a new one upon request, though As for the name, it will change accordingly. When I'll start the new thread I'll notify it to you, so that you may close this one.
I'll take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work in the forums. I've been away from the forums lately, but I can't count how many times you helped me and other users hanging out there for an answer. Any feedback from you is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

Does anyone have amd64 version of this minimalcd and could upload it somewhere?

As you can read in my second-last post the website is down, I'm having some technical difficulties.
I should be able to bring it online late this evening, but I can make no guarantees. It won't be fully functional anyway, I got some config files to restore, but vsftpd's one is the easy part. In the meanwhile, I asked my friend to restore the old link as a temporary workaround. You can find the amd64 there, the x86 one is coming.
You've been quite lucky, I'll be leaving again tomorrow
Cheers,

Neo2,
I can host your liveCDs for a while. It won't be fast as it will be on a server on the end of my domestic ADSL.
If you would like that, let me know and I'll post a link to this thread. _________________ Regards,

Thanks for the offer NeddySeagoon, but I kindly decline
My friend's server is on OVH as well, I have no need for additional bandwidth as of now. Should any problems arise with my friend's server, I'll let you know
Cheers,
