I would consult Google for gathering places of others that have used pam_smb_auth; I think they would be more helpful. _________________ I don't believe in witty sigs. |

I'v read their docs but there is nothing special!
I think the problem is the modofocation of the /etc/pam.d/login file, where i inserted in second line this:
auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_smb_auth.so
(and ofcorse copyed pam_smb_auth.so to /lib/security/)
Any ideas aroun this?? |

If you want to authenticate a user from the SAM within a windows 2000 domain, I'd use ldap.
AN active directory can be set to accept ldap queries.
And linux, can be set to authenticate on a ldap server.
RedHat linux has it's own util to configure this. "authconfig"
I will start my RH box here, and check what files it changes.. _________________ All things considerring! I'm considerring to...never mind! |

Hi,
what about samba's new winbind daemon? isn't that exactly what you're searching for? it's included since 2.2.1 (?) I think.
Greets! |
